Winner of ‘Best City Centre’ development at the 2007 Yorkshire Residential Property Awards.

Designed by award winning architect Carey Jones, the £75million scheme, which won ‘Best City Centre' development at the 2007 Yorkshire Residential Property Awards, consists of 550 residential apartments, a 215 bed hotel, retail and commercial space together with underground parking for 250 vehicles. It is the largest ever residential site to be built in the centre of Leeds. Horbury Building Systems Ltd contract included the design and installation of the external SFS frame with Cement Particle board external lining, internal partitions, ceilings and plaster finish. Additionally, Horbury undertook all the linings and ceiling works within the feature atrium.

The centre piece of the development is the stunning central atrium which many of the apartments open onto. Whilst it was imperative that this area was visually of the highest possible quality, equally important was the reduction of sound reverberation. The Architect was concerned that this could be a nuisance to the adjoining apartments, so to overcome this problem Horbury installed a large quantity of perforated plasterboard throughout the atrium and the end result easily achieved the designers' aesthetic and practical aspirations.

MWS Joinery Ltd were contracted to carry out the first and second fix joinery including doors, hardwood / softwood door frames, window boards and skirting boards. Included within the contract were the design, build, manufacture and installation of specialised high quality bespoke joinery to the apartments, offices and wash rooms. It included items such as oak bathroom cabinets, oak wardrobes, draw units, base units and raised bed units.
